Ekta Foundation has been actively engaged in organizing mega events and festivals across Canada attracting thousands of tourists. Some of our mega events includes:
Specifically, the awards nights attemptto accomplish this objective by giving platform to recognize artists both with artistic and technical excellence while entertaining the audiences and helping them to build connections in the community.
Settlement Support
Our mandate is to serve the newcomers women, seniors, youth, children and families (including permanent residents, refugee claimants and immigrants of all ages) with relevant information, guidance and support during the settlement process, as well as serve as a bridge to connect them to a broad range of services and resources with the objective of facilitating a smooth and successful entry, transition and settlement into Canadian life.
We have developed many programs and services which provide newcomers with the information and skills they need. The two major programs are settlement program (through internships) and the employment search program.
The settlement workshops/information sessions cover issues on applying for immigration; finding housing; learning about their rights and obligations, including women’s rights; accessing health care; and, seeking financial assistance, if needed.
The employment program is comprised workshops/information sessions/one-on-one counseling on such topics as the development of a realistic, step-by-step employment action plans; completing job applications; practicing interview skills; implementing job search tips. We also help newcomers with gaining access to community programs through information and referral services.
Internship Opportunities
Ekta foundation provides volunteering and internship opportunities to students from colleges and universities.
Through this program we want to reach-out and engage Indo-Canadian youth. Our youth’s volunteering activities enableyouth to be ambassadors of their community that make an impact in theirmost immediate surroundings. Furthermore, this initiative will help youth to cultivate a culture of civic engagement that focuses on developing leadership and facilitating stronger relationships within and without the community.
By providing the necessary tools and creating a nurturing environment, we aim to empower our youth to work together, take initiative, create partnerships, build networks and provide leadership to the larger community on civic and democratic engagement.

Programs for Seniors
Seniors Club: This program provides an opportunity to isolated seniors to come out and socialize with each other, exchange ideas and establish friendships for mutual support. Seniors are included in programs that focus on singing, cultural dance, folklore, meditation and story-telling, nature and community walks, group discussions on relevant senior's issues, information workshops, healthy eating and yoga.
Program Benefits
Seniors leadership and volunteerism skills are enhanced, and they take an active role in promotion and management of cultural events.
Volunteerism is promoted, and seniors reduce their isolate to contribute their skills, time and knowledge for the betterment of other seniors and the community.
Networking and information sharing opportunities of seniors are developed.
Social isolation of the seniors is reduced and integration in the community is fostered.
A conducive learning environment on sharing of culture is strengthened which will enable them to volunteer ongoing.

Senior's leadership capabilities are developed as its addresses senior’s participation in the community, thus creating pathways for age-friendly society.
Scholarships
Our goal is to improve access to post-secondary and post-graduate education for all individuals within our community regardless of their socioeconomic status. By removing financial barriers, we strive to enable high potential individuals to excel and contribute to the Canadian community. Youth face numerous challenges. Many of them are remarkable students with great potential and intelligence. Through a selection process, which qualifies merit, community service, career aspirations and financial need, we hope to award qualified students with scholarships to help further their education.
Ekta Scholarship Fund
Initially we will be awarding scholarshipsto a limited number of qualified individuals on an annual basis. The scholarship amount will be based on the donations we receive and through our sponsorships.
